The new studio album from Finnish cello-rock formation Apocalyptica will be released on 23 August and is entitled ‘7th Symphony’. You will find 8 instrumental tracks on the album and also four with (guest) vocals. This time, those willing were: Gavin Rossdale (better known as lead singer of Bush) and Brent Smith from Shinedown. Furthermore, Slayer drummer Dave Lombardo provided the drum sections for the song ‘2010’ and for ‘Bring Them To Light’ Apocalyptica worked with Joseph Duplantier of French metal band Gojira (who shared an ABstage with In Flames in late 2008.)
As ever, the band will combine this release with an extensive world tour, which will once again stop in the AB. This will be their third ABconcert since the release of their debut album 'Plays Metallica By Four Cellos' in the late 90's, when they came to mark the occasion in the AB.
The Apocalyptica phenomenon hails from Helsinki: They play metal and rock purely with cellos (and since 2003 also joined by a drummer). The new album will be their seventh studio album.
