Symphonic cello-quartet forged from first-rate Finnish metal
Finnish mishmash of classical & metal that battered down the door to success in ’96, with unique cello covers of Metallica songs. Eight albums later (their latest issue lies on the shelves of Sony Music to await release in early 2015), the symphonic quartet from Helsinki stands alone at the top of the genre they themselves forged from first-rate Finnish metal: cello metal.
On their previous album ‘7th Symphony’, Apocalyptica even turned up with a series of guest vocalists like Gavin Rossdale (Bush) and Joe Duplantier (Gojira) whereas on the new issue, and also during the live shows, they chose exclusively for the throat of Franky Perez (Slash, Scars On Broadway).
