Aaliyah, Azealia Banks, Lauryn Hill & Missy Elliot in one!
The concert of Angel Haze on May 15 has been cancelled. Our apologies. We hope to see her later in AB with a new bomb-ass record.
Angel Hazes statement on her Facebook:
“Guys, I've made a tough decision to postpone my UK & European dates in May. I am totally committed to finishing this record as soon as possible & that means not leaving the studio for now!! I promise though when i do come it'll be worth the wait! Thanks for all the support.”
Purchased tickets will be refunded.

See now, that's what we like to see in AB: women with -uh- balls! Angel Haze ‘flows’ like Jay-Z, has more bravura than Azealia Banks (with whom she is regularly compared) and Nicki Minaj put together, jeers like Tyler, the Creator and the ease with which she switches from rap to song on her fresh mixtape ‘Classick’ (download it for free!) reminds one of an excellent Lauryn Hill. Not bad for a 21-year-old, nicknamed ‘Rap Brat’ (due to her youthful age), who was urged to convert her poetry into music two years ago by friends.
Her clever lyrics effortlessly transcend the usual ‘bling-ho-booze’ lyrics typical of popular hip-hop anno 2012 and dig deep, very deep. “I was just a toddler or kid, and he wasn't the first to successfully try what he did” is what she raps to the beats of Eminem’s ‘Cleaning Out My Closet’ on ‘Classick’, the successor to her cast iron debut-EP ‘Reservation’. No innocent youth, and you can feel that in Haze's intense performances. The real deal and a deservedly huge hype on the worldwide web! “I don’t know why people are talking about me and someone else when Angel Haze is better than all of us.” twittered girlfriend Azealia Banks, and she's right.
For those who've not yet encountered Haze online, she looks like the late Aaliyah, always a bonus. Just like co-hype Frank Ocean she doesn't discriminate either, regularly inferring that she enjoys the best of both worlds. Always a bonus as well! To totally convince you, a quote from Pitchfork: “Angel Haze’s ‘Classick’, announces her desire - and better yet, potential - to change the whole rap game.”
