The best of the new generation of hip hop!
EarthGang embodies the best of the new generation of rappers. They don’t tie themselves down to a particular style or genre and always work with producers who think out of the box. Their skilled wordplay reminds one of Outkast, an other Atlanta hip-hop duo. They released the highly-praised EP ‘Royalty’ earlier this year.
J.I.D met the duo EarthGang during his school days. The three promising hip-hoppers decided to share the stage and wrote tracks together. J.I.D helped to give form to the Spillage Village collective, that both EarthGang and producers Hollywood JB, Jordan Bryant and DJ DarkKnight are a part of. The 25-year-old rapper was later picked up by J.Cole, with whom he toured last year.
In the press
"The East Atlanta rapper has been making waves in his city for a couple of years now. He released his Dicaprio EP in 2015, and in 2016, along with the Spillage Village crew (which is also comprised of EarthGang, Jordxn Bryant and Hollywood JB), the budding upstart dropped Bears Like This Too Much, a fantastic 12-track LP. The project, which quietly became one of the better projects of that year, found J.I.D displaying his witty lyricism and ear-grabbing delivery." – XXL Mag on J.I.D"The work of Earthgang is a renewal for Atlanta, a departure from the city’s familiar club sounds … Every Song arrived fully formed, hitting hard and landing jokes while also delving deep into political issues, especially topics of race." – Noisey on Earthgang
