Eleven-member roots-monster spits holy reggae-fire upon AB!
N9 presents in AB: PURA VIDA
The eleven-member roots-monster Pura Vida has been breathing the holy reggae-fire out over our European countries since 2006 already. Under the leadership of founder and figurehead Bregt De Boever, this East-Flemish collective headed to Italy with a motley mix of dub, blues, ska, soul for the prestigious Rototom European Reggae Contest 2008.
The start of an impressive story that resulted in four fine LPs and collaborations with Jamaica’s finest, folk like Ashanti Roy (The Congos), Prince Alla and living legend Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry. Fifth issue ‘Step By Step’, the second liaison with Congo Ashanti Roy, saw the light of day this summer and was again canned at Pura Vida’s homebase The Lost Ark Studio.
Strong tobacco with the associated herbs, if you ask us, and high time that this national pride ascend the stage of our AB-Club. So set your GPS in the direction of Zion at the end of November, because the promised land of the Rastafari will lie right in the heart of Brussels for a short time: on Sunday 30 November ’14!
