A raw, brutal bite of psychedelic doom metal
Italian trio Ufomammut has been dishing out doom- and sludge-metal dipped ear-boxings, with an afterglow that penetrates to the deepest fibres of your being, since ’99. Their leaden, drawn-out riffs are smothered in roaring vocals and bathe in psychedelic effects, a tried-and-true recipe that they have been turning out with force since their debut ‘Godlike Snake’.
In March ’15 they'll be dropping ‘Ecate’ (named after the Greek Goddess of sorcery and birth), successor to the double album Oro and their second release on Neurot Recordings (YOB, Neurosis, Amenra). Live, as ever, they will be complemented by flipped-out visual projects from the portfolio of Art Lab Malleus (the members of Ufomammut) - a collective that has already provided artwork and associated products for the likes of Aphex Twin, Mogwai, Qotsa, Deftones, Sonic Youth and The Mars Volta.
