Swiss pianist Nik Bärtsch is a busy bee. He works in three musically parallel settings: as solo artist (on prepared piano), with his acoustic band Mobile and with his 'zen-funk' group Ronin. Bärtsch established Ronin in ’01 and describes the music under this moniker as zen-funk: minimal, repetitive and rhythmically complex compositions that contain elements of jazz, funk and acoustic rock.
