St Germain est enfin de retour ! Vingt ans aprĂšs âBoulevardâ, quinze ans aprĂšs l'album multi-platinĂ© âTouristâ (plus de trois millions d'albums Ă©coulĂ©s Ă travers la planĂšte) et une tournĂ©e mondiale qui l'a conduit sur plusieurs continents, Ludovic Navarre, alias St Germain, a repris le chemin des studios. Figure incontestĂ©e et respectĂ©e de la musique Ă©lectronique depuis deux dĂ©cennies, pionnier de la french touch, inventeur d'une deep house Ă©rudite, sensuelle et originale, St Germain s'est toujours distinguĂ© par son art consommĂ© d'un mariage subtil entre machines et instruments, racines et modernitĂ©.
Une musique de fusion, marquée par son amour du blues, du jazz et des musiques noires en général, scandée de boucles électro hypnotiques et de samples de voix harmonieusement entrelacés. On n'a pas oublié son célÚbre "Alabama Blues", ni "Rose Rouge", tube repris dans le monde entier⊠jusque dans les concerts des Rolling Stones.
Un voyage mĂ©tissĂ© Ă la musicalitĂ© exceptionnelle que l'on retrouve dans ce nouvel album Ă©ponyme, enregistrĂ© en compagnie de musiciens africains, et oĂč kora, balafon et n'goni, instruments traditionnels du Mali, voisinent avec guitares Ă©lectriques, pianos, saxophones et sĂ©quences Ă©lectro dont St Germain a le secret.
A l'image de ce premier single estival et idĂ©al, "Real Blues", qui mĂȘle sur une trame percussive chaleureuse et endiablĂ©e, la voix du lĂ©gendaire bluesman texan Lightnin' Hopkins. Le tout dĂ©corĂ© d'une pochette originale, un masque en relief et en 3D conçu tout spĂ©cialement par Gregos, le crĂ©ateur d'Urban Art qui colle ses visages souriants ou grimaçants sur les murs de Paris et d'Europe.
