For the fifth year in a row, AB – in partnership with ROSA (The Danish Rock Council), the SPOT festival and MXD (Music Export Denmark) - presents SPOT ON DENMARK. In one night, Spot On Denmark presents a handful of promising Danish acts who earlier this year were selected by a jury of Belgian journalists, concert programmers and managers at the SPOT showcase festival in the Danish university city of Aarhus.

In the past we have welcomed Murder, Fagget Fairys, I Got You On Tape, Efterklang and Slaraffenland. This year it’s the turn of the underground hype of the moment – Iceage – the whole retinue.

10.00 pm - Iceage
They are only 18/19 years old, and they have been the hottest underground band of recent months. Their debut ‘New Brigade’, only 24 minutes long, was released in their native country back in  January, but has now been picked up worldwide by ‘XL Recordings, home of Adele and The White Stripes. In their home country, they have been described as ‘teenage punks full of anger and anxiety’. If you dig a little deeper you’ll hear sharp avant garde pop songs. NME gave their debut a 9/10 and Pitchfork praised them in the ‘Best New Music’ category with a solid 8.4.

9.00 pm - F.U.K.T.
Danish dubstep of the finest quality with the sub-bass set to 10. What’s unusual is that F.U.K.T. performs as an actual band. Skream, Benga and Burial may be proud of their disciples.

8.00 pm - Vinnie Who
Vinnie Who is the alter ego of Niels Bagge, who is known in his country as the ‘Prince Of Disco’. With his six-piece live band, he made a big impression at Jazz Montreux and others. This autumn, he will also perform at the prestigious Transmusical de Rennes festival.

7.00 pm - Giana Factory
Girl band led by Loui Foo: the sister of Sharin Foo from The Raveonettes. Their debut ‘Save The Youth’ came out in 2010 but is released worldwide this year. Their pop noir has been praised on Pitchfork and has been remixed by the likes of Glasvegas and Trentemøller. They also share a backing band with the latter.
