Having notched up four longplayers, with the searing ‘Deep Blue’ (’10) and ‘Atlas’ (’12) leading the way, and with new issue ‘Ire’ (25/09 – Epitaph) ripening in the pouch, the Aussies from Parkway Drive are making a well-earned attempt at the title of ‘Australia's best metal export product’, after AC/DC of course.
The five metal chieftains promise a “stunning creative leap” and a “career-defining statement” with the brand new album, and screamer/figurehead Winston McCall even goes a step further: “this is THE album for us, every single step of the way.”
Preceding single ‘Vice Grip’, accompanied on YouTube by a dizzying video full of recklessness, certainly allows us to hear a more melodic, less aggressive sound, without losing any quality. Slightly more ‘metal’, slightly less ‘core’!
