Deafening clash of metal titans!
The well-oiled Welsh bulldozer Bullet For My Valentine and the American hurricane called Killswitch Engage both head down to our capital with a knife between the teeth and a new album (‘Venom’ – BFMV 08/15 & ‘Incarnate’ – KE 03/16). Melodious metal laced with catchy refrains – although BFMV heads in the direction of heavy metal while Killswitch wallows in adamant metalcore – where the double bass drum eagerly does overtime. We’ve already welcomed BFMV a few times in AB, but this is the first time for Killswitch Engage at Anspachlaan 110. Hospitable as we are, we’ll be sure to treat these heavyweights from Westfield - Massachusetts to the most legendary moshpit that they’ve yet seen!
Cane Hill
Even though New Orleans is mainly known for its jazz, rhythm & blues, and rock ’n’ roll scenes, the city in Louisiana can still brag about a number of impressive metal names like Crowbar, Eyehategod & Down. The latest name to be added to this list is Cane Hill, a young foursome on Rise Records (Five Finger Death Punch, The Devil Wears Prada) that throws together nu metal, metalcore and alternative metal with Slipknot, Pantera, Megadeth and hip-hop tout court as points of reference.
